Quick start

The complete operational flow from selecting a workspace to returning a borrowed aircraft.

Select your workspace
Choose Personal or the Team that will operate the flight from the portal header.

Choose an aircraft
Use a native workspace aircraft, or borrow an available Global Aircraft at the required departure airport.

Assign and plan
Assign the aircraft on Schedule, then generate the flight briefing from Planning.

Authorise BACARS
Use Authorise Portal on the BACARS Dashboard when authorization is required.

Synchronise with PSX
Open Aircraft Synchronisation and load the selected aircraft's model and current situation.

Fly and submit
BACARS submits the completed sector and updates the aircraft's history and location.

Save the latest state
Save a fresh PSX situation and upload it using Check in Aircraft State.
8
Return if borrowed
Return a Global Aircraft through the portal when the workspace has finished using it.

Choose workspace→Assign aircraft→Plan→Synchronise→Fly→Save state→Return if Global

OPERATING CONTEXT

What is a workspace?

A workspace is the selected operating environment for schedules, aircraft, crew and operational information.

Personal workspace

Private to one user. Use it when flying independently and keeping the schedule, fleet and operation separate from a team.

Team workspace

Shared by current Team members. Members see the same schedule, fleet, briefings, gates, crew, Tech Logs and operational picture.

The portal selection is authoritative

Use the workspace selector in the portal header. BACARS follows that selection automatically; it does not have a separate workspace selector.

Changing workspace changes the operation and aircraft BACARS offers.
It does not move, copy or merge flights or aircraft.
Personal and Team workspaces are parallel; a Personal workspace is not contained inside a Team.

AIRCRAFT IDENTITY

Understanding fleets

Every aircraft has one persistent Fleet ID. Its files, Tech Log and history stay attached to that record.

Personal aircraft

Belongs permanently to a Personal workspace, synchronises directly through BACARS and never needs returning.

Team aircraft

Belongs permanently to a Team, remains checked out until returned, and shares its state and Tech Log with Team members.

Global Aircraft

Lives on the shared Global shelf and can be borrowed temporarily into a Personal or Team workspace without changing ownership.

GLOBAL AIRCRAFT

Borrowing an aircraft

Select the destination workspace first, then choose an available aircraft from Global Aircraft.

Before borrowing

Aircraft is active and in service.
Current model and situation are available.
Airport location matches the intended departure.
No active loan or conflicting workspace registration exists.

What the portal records

Borrower and destination workspace.
Issued model and situation versions.
A seven-day Global loan expiry.
One continuous aircraft custody history.

While the loan is active, every current member of a destination Team can assign, plan, synchronise and operate the aircraft. The original borrower remains the custody audit owner.

Global loans and Team checkouts are different. Global loans expire after seven days. Native Team aircraft remain checked out until returned or force-released.

FLIGHT OPERATION

Operating through BACARS

BACARS uses the authorised portal account and currently selected workspace to resolve flights and aircraft.

1. Authorise

Approve the BACARS device through the signed-in Planning Portal.

2. Synchronise

BACARS validates the workspace and downloads the model and current situation.

3. Match PSX

The PSX registration must match before aircraft-specific Tech Log defects are applied.

4. Complete

The submitted sector updates the authoritative Fleet history and destination.

5. Upload state

A new PSX situation becomes the aircraft's latest immutable state version.

Uploading is not returning

Check in Aircraft State uploads the latest situation. A borrowed Global Aircraft is released separately through the portal.

END OF CUSTODY

Returning a Global Aircraft

Return the aircraft when the borrowing workspace has finished using it.

A normal return requires a situation uploaded after the loan began, a final airport established by an accepted flight or movement, and a valid parking stand. If no flight was recorded, provide a reason.

Unfinished scheduled flights are unassigned.
Their existing SimBrief results are invalidated.
Completed flights retain their aircraft link.
The custody record closes.
The aircraft leaves the workspace Fleet.
It returns to Global availability at its latest accepted state and location.

At automatic expiry the portal performs the same safe release. If it cannot establish a valid final stand or situation after a completed flight, the aircraft remains unavailable pending administrator recovery.

Troubleshooting

Aircraft does not appear in BACARS

Confirm authorization, the selected workspace, serviceability, model and situation readiness. A Global Aircraft must already be borrowed into the workspace.

BACARS shows the wrong workspace

Change the selection in the Planning Portal, then reopen Aircraft Synchronisation to refresh immediately.

Borrow in Planning Portal

The Global Aircraft is visible but the current workspace has no active loan. Borrow it from its Global Aircraft page.

Workspace already owns this registration

A local aircraft has the same normalized registration. The Global aircraft cannot be borrowed until that identity conflict is resolved.

Model or situation is missing

The aircraft is not ready for synchronization. Its workspace owner or a Global administrator must provide the required file.

Latest situation required before return

Save a fresh situation in PSX and upload it. The version must have been created after the Global loan began.

Scheduled flights were unassigned

This is expected after a Global aircraft is returned or expires. Assign another aircraft and plan or replan the affected flight.

Awaiting administrator recovery

The portal could not safely reproduce the final stand or situation. An administrator must restore a valid operational state.

Global Aircraft shelf: The shared catalogue available for temporary borrowing.
Destination workspace: The workspace allowed to operate a borrowed aircraft.
Situation: A versioned PSX .situ file representing simulator state and position.
Return: The portal action that closes Global custody.
State upload: A new situation version; it does not itself return an aircraft.
